I’m Fernando, a web application developer with a strong focus on React and TypeScript, and over eight years of professional experience in the IT sector. Long before that, programming was already a hobby of mine, driven by curiosity and a desire to understand how things work under the hood.

What I enjoy most is working on complex logic problems: breaking them down into smaller, manageable parts and carefully thinking through edge cases. Before I start implementing a solution, I like to understand the details thoroughly, and once something is built, I actively try to break it again to see where it might fail. This mindset helps me build solutions that are robust without introducing unnecessary technical debt, even when a simpler change might seem acceptable from a user’s perspective.

For five years I worked in the healthcare sector, building applications that handle sensitive personal data. This experience reinforced the importance of correctness, reliability, and thoughtful design. Outside of my professional work, I enjoy experimenting with Arduino projects, PCB design, and photography — activities that reflect the same curiosity and attention to detail that drive my work as a developer.

Application Specialist

I'm Rik, a highly experienced application specialist with roots in Finance and HR. Simply put, my work revolves around ensuring that software applications are used efficiently and effectively across the organization. This includes identifying potential software improvements, analyzing user needs, and making recommendations to improve business processes. I collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to identify problems, find solutions, and optimize the user experience.

Most of my experience comes from working in the non-profit sector. These environments allow you to show results quickly and focus on solving real problems without getting caught up in internal competition. That makes it possible to concentrate on the quality of the data and the reliability of the systems that depend on it.

Reliability is at the core of how I work. I strongly believe in preventing issues before they reach the end user, rather than reacting after something goes wrong. Colleagues often rely on my calm approach: when a problem is raised, they know it will be handled thoughtfully, or they will receive clear feedback on the next steps. Outside of work, I enjoy 3D printing and photography, interests that combine creativity with precision.
